Hi, I’m Jake Mischke

I’m a physical therapist, educator, and consultant focused on helping clinicians and organizations thrive at the intersection of patient care, professional development, and financial strategy. I’ve spent the past 15+ years guiding physical therapists—from students to experienced clinicians—toward better clinical outcomes, stronger leadership, and more empowered career decisions.

I write and teach about topics that matter to the future of our profession: evidence-based care, business literacy, career strategy, and the systems that shape our day-to-day work. I’ve published peer-reviewed research, taught in doctoral programs, served on national committees, and built a consulting business dedicated to meaningful impact—without the fluff.

When I’m not working with clients or writing, you’ll probably find me outside with my family, deep in a new book, or mentoring someone through a difficult career transition.

What I Do

I work with individuals, clinical teams, and professional organizations. Here’s how I can help:

  • Mentoring: One-on-one or team-based coaching focused on clinical reasoning, leadership, and long-term career strategy.

  • Consulting: Practical, outcomes-focused support for clinical practices and organizations navigating change or growth.

  • Speaking: I speak on topics like salary negotiation, financial strategy, and the future of physical therapy.

  • Courses: I develop and deliver educational content designed for immediate real-world application—whether live, online, or on-demand.

Why It Matters

My work is about more than just knowledge. It’s about creating clarity in a profession that often feels fragmented. I aim to equip physical therapists not only to treat patients, but to lead, grow, and advocate for the future they want to build.

I believe better systems and better decisions create better outcomes—for patients, for clinicians, and for the profession.
